Medicine (UG): Biomedical Science - Year 2 Academic Representative

I have learned much from the past year in BMB, but most importantly, I learned the value of collaboration and cohesion to harness your full potential. My name is Aditya Sil, and as a candidate for BMB Year 2 Academic Representative, I hold inclusivity, communication, and empathy at the centre of my campaign.

As an international student who has constantly been moving from country to country, I truly value the warmth and stability that I have found within the Imperial community, particularly within BMB. It is through the support of my peers that I was able to grow and thrive in this course, and ultimately obtain the BMB Year 1 Academic Excellence Prize. As academic representative, I hope to provide the same support to each of you that was offered to me throughout my journey.

Specifically, I hope to foster a greater sense of inclusivity and cohesion within the BMB Year 2 cohort, as our voices are louder together. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have often struggled with the issue of representation, hence why I am deeply committed to creating an accepting environment where all of your voices can be heard and amplified. By promoting an open platform for exchanging ideas and suggestions, I aim to ensure that the feedback propagated to BMB teaching staff represents the true sentiment of Year 2. Your feedback matters, and will serve as the catalyst for improving the BMB course for us and future students.

Be the change. Vote for Aditya.
