Amelia Spindler
Royal Miners,
I’m Amelia - a Material Science student running for President of the RSMU. The RSM has been a central part of my university experience, where I have created memories (and lost them), made friends and experienced new things. I believe that it’s important to have safe space to let loose from the academic stress of Imperial, the RSM is that place.
My current role of Vice President of Activities and Event allowed me to contribute to the social side of the RSMU with planning and running a range of events including dinners, bar nights and pub quizzes. Thought out my time on Committee over the last two years I have learnt the importance of communication, trust and respect within planning and in meetings as well as communication with the union and external vendors.
If elected I want to carry on the work the current committee has worked so hard to achieve. This last year he RSMU has cultivated a more inclusive community adding wellbeing events and Charity pub quizzes, allowing non-drinkers and postgraduate to feel more comfortable when socialising. As well as the new side of the union I want to uphold the traditions, and keep the RSM spirt for future years.
As a highly active person with the RSMU comunity I understand how important the RSM is to its members, and I believe I am the best candicate to withhold the RSM values.
