Hiya!

I'm Ariff and I've had a lot of experience working with the Maths Department. I was the Year One Academic Rep 22/23, the Departmental Academic Rep 23/24, and a member of UG Colloquium Committee, recently organising the Warwick-Imperial Mathematics Conference (WIMP). Together with the other reps, we pushed for a second microwave and cleaning supplies in the common room, and a reduction in assessments.

As Department Wellbeing Rep, I'd like to support you next year in a more student-facing manner by amplifying your voice and advocating for your wellbeing.

1. Plants in Huxley 🏵 : I've just started the "Plant Parent" Program (check your emails!) where we try to set up plants around the building. You get the chance to decorate the plants/pots and take care of them during term time. Hopefully by next year, we can soften Huxley's brutalism a touch.
2. Social Events : We have Christmas in the MLC -- but I want to organise more events/themes based on Halloween, New Years, etc. I'd also like to work with MathSoc to set up social events for Year 3 and 4 so we can still keep in touch despite moving on to radically different modules.
3. And More : An extra notice board on Level 3, regular replacement of cleaning supplies, improvements to the water coolers, etc.
