I remember reading the list of Union representatives for the first time as a silly little fresher and seeing a working-class officer. I cracked a little smile, thinking: hey, Imperial has someone to represent people like me. I come from a single-parent family where all I remember is my mama telling me one thing: your job is to learn. My mother worked hard to provide me with a fulfilling education and to always strive towards my dream, Imperial. Now that I have got here, I wanted to ensure kids like me have an opportunity, scholarships, and a voice to show people that we too can get into world-leading universities, regardless of our backgrounds. I want to promote inclusivity at a university where there is minimal working class representation, knowing that whoever gets into this university has been offered a safe environment. Currently, I work three jobs and I want to offer more job opportunities across the university to students, with excellent pay and flexible hours, which includes reinstating the imperial 93% club. I want networking to be easier for us and to be a helping hand and someone you can reach out to for support. As the working-class officer, I would like to represent the people and change lives for the better.
