Hello, i’m Charlene! I'm currently in my 2nd year, studying ecology & environmental biology. i joined esoc this year after stumbling upon the booth during freshers fair ( & got an adorable little leaf ). Through the year, I have learned so much about the various environmental-related initiatives in Imperial, & met so many of you with great ideas on how to improve sustainability at Imperial. I want to support your journey in making these ideas into reality, through connecting like-minded individuals and providing guidance throughout the process.
I would like to maintain the welcoming culture of this society- that regardless of prior knowledge in sustainability, everyone would feel welcomed, and that this society is a safe space for everyone to learn and grow :) as someone who grew up in a city, i knew nothing about gardening, yet I always felt welcomed and everyone was willing to share their knowledge and experiences. This year, I worked with Tina to start up a compost bin in the garden. I want to increase the publicity of eSoc initiatives and the organisation of environmental newsletters in Imperial, to make information about sustainability conveniently accessible.
Everyone here is so passionate about building a more sustainable future, and I would love to be able to help make that possible ! :)
