What's up Mech Eng! After playing a pivotal role in MechSoc as your Head of Events, and bringing you events like curry night, bar nights and bowling bash, I've decided to run for Chair of MechSoc.

I've worked with CSPs for 3 years now, serving on the committees of CGCU, DesSoc and Hindu Soc, among others. At this point, I am confident in completing risk assessments, event proposals and budget forms in my sleep. No doubt I've had the odd nightmare about them too. My point being: I know how to run societies; and hopefully with your support, we can get the wheels rolling for MechSoc 24/25.

Expect the return of classics, such as the events mentioned above, as well as newer vibey events. From mini-golf and oktoberfest, to a Valentine's event – the possibilities are endless. As always, I am open to feedback and new ideas, so if there's something you want, let's make it happen!

A particular focus of mine next year will be on Industrial Events. It's time to revive that academic side of our society, with engineering, consulting and finance talks. No longer will aero soc have that advantage over us, and enough with their mocking comments. We will reign supreme!
