Xuanyong Tay

Hello! I am Xuanyong (Keith), your Vice Chair and running to be your next ChemEngSoc Chair!

You have probably seen me running around organising Career Events, Brewery and Hackspace Tours, as well as my recent megaproject with the ETH Zurich Exchange.

Having spent two years within committee, I have learnt much of the intricacies of how the society runs, and how to run it successfully! Leveraging on the management, organisational, and liaison skills that I gained, I hope to bring enjoyable affordable events, and valuable career opportunities for everyone!

As Chair, I aim to:

• Bring about various exciting social events, especially BOAT PARTY, as well as Pub Crawl, Karaoke Social, Bowling Night and many more!
• Ensure that the tickets are more affordable for our annual events such as Frank Morton, Society Dinners, and Zurich Exchange via sponsorships.
• Alongside the Sustainability Officer and partnering societies, continue our role in organising the college’s annual Green Careers Fair.
• Refine the communications between committee and members by organising more frequent ChemEng & Coffee sessions and termly Town Hall Meetings.
• Work with the Secretary and External Relations Team in revamping the ChemEngSoc website and integrating a Society’s Events Calendar and an Alumni & Careers Networking Hub within the system.
• Collaborate with the Department closer in introducing wellbeing events like Dog Petting and Cat Café Social.

I have truly enjoyed my time within the society and would like to further our efforts in enhancing the university experience of all Imperial ChemEngers.
