Hi folks, I'm T-Yan, a 1st Year Materials student. I'm running for President and Treasurer :)

I have been quite involved with the Imperial College Singapore Society (ICSS) over the past few months and it has really provided a comforting presence in foreign London. The engaging activities, intriguing career talks and interlinked student network have all been meticulously planned and I want to be involved in the process to optmise the experiences for incoming and current ICSS members and promote bonded community.

More than a haven, I believe that ICSS can also be a platform of opportunities for people to springboard off. As President of ICSS, I want to try to integrate more career opportunities into the ICSS benefits, liaising with Singaporean companies to connect them to Imperial students. My past internship and leadership experiences have familiarised me with the hiring process and coordinating with external organisations and the acquired skills will serve me well in this role. Furthermore, I would like to reach out to a wider range of companies (targetting smaller ones) for sponsorships or internships as a low-risk high-reward venture. ICSS could potentially collaborate with ICUMS or other UK Universities' Singapore Societies for career opportunities to increase the talent pool to entice companies.

Driven and diligent, I believe that I can support my fellow Exco members through the term, plot a detailed timeline and ensure smooth running of operations.
