Riko Umeda

My name is Riko Umeda and I am currently a first-year student studying Chemistry. I would love to support Japanese society as a treasurer next year. There are two main reasons why I would like to be a treasurer.

Firstly, I have three years of experience as a treasurer. From that experience, I have gained organising and time management skills which I believe will be useful in this role. I will try to use our budget as effective as possible to hold more events which all the members in Japanese society will be able to enjoy.

Secondly, I enjoyed all the events hosted by Japanese society since last October. Especially in the beginning, getting to know other people in the Japanese Society helped me make friends and settle into my new life at university. Therefore, next year, I would like to contribute to creating a comfortable environment for all members of the Japanese Society by not only managing our finances but also helping and supporting other role.
