Jenny Liao

Hey everyone! I’m Jenny Liao, a first year Biochemistry student and I am running to be your next year’s treasurer! I am from your classic fujianese family, born and raised in the UK but lived in China for a few years too. I love ABACUS as much as I love hotpot, and trust me, I am at Haidilao at least 3 times a week. I’ve met some of my closest friends through ABACUS, created the best memories, met so many amazing people and I am looking forward to meeting even more. No other society can compare to the sense of community I feel with each and every one of our members. ABACUS is a family and I want to make sure next year, every member of ABACUS feels as happy as I am.

Why am I suited to be treasurer? Because I am asian…and obviously, quite responsible when it comes to finances. Being a past treasurer in my high school for over 3 clubs has given me core knowledge in strategising and budgeting. I am prepared to bring the best prices, with close connections to the owners of restaurants in Chinatown such as, lucky tea, bao bun and old town 7, you can count on me as treasurer to eat good, and feel good :)

I am here to be your chinatown clubcard, and continue this legacy of ABACUS!
