Emily Worby
Hi, my name is Emily and I am a first year biochemist. I am excited to run for secretary this year!
Throughout my first year I enjoyed many activities and events hosted by Art Club. I particularly enjoyed the life drawing with charcoal during the first term and I appreciated the relaxed and supportive environment it offered. In my experience with this society I have come to love its inclusive and welcoming qualities and I want to help preserve this. As secretary I aim to:
1. Make sure our members are heard by putting out polls on potential activities, interests and improvements.
2. Continue to run the diverse range of weekly workshops by running classes based on different artists, mediums, art periods and techniques. I want to help organise workshops with professional artists and teachers and I will help out during these if needed. A term long weekly class such as the charcoal life drawing is something I am interested in running next year.
3. Increase Art Clubs influence by collaborating with different societies. This will create great opportunities for likeminded individuals to connect.
4. Showcase our members talent by potentially running weekly online exhibitions. This could be a useful and convenient way of getting feedback and improving technique.
Art should be accessible to everyone and bringing together people with experience, no experience and everything in between is my goal. I hope to maintain and improve this diverse community of artists as secretary and would appreciate your vote!
