Shio Umezu
Hello! My name is Shio Umezu and I am a 1st year student studying Earth and Planetary Science.
To me, Japanese Society is not just one of the communities I am a member of, but the place where I always feel welcomed and where I can be open to exchange ideas with everyone. All the meaningful and fun experiences I had there have inspired me to be part of the committees and be the one to contribute.
Having done the society leader in high school and working experience during a gap year, I strongly believe that I am well-suited for the role of secretary. Those experiences enabled me to develop all the essential skills including risk management, communication, and cooperation.
On top of that, I recognise my biggest strengths as being flexible and responsive, meaning that even when some unexpected troubles happen, I will always be prepared to respond with them quickly. While my main role as a secretary is to support other members of the committee, whenever you need help, I will never hesitate to take the first action.
If I get to be the secretary next year, I will be committed to make sure all of you are having the best time to be part of the community as well as fulfilling each of your purposes there. I promise that I will always be open to hear your feedback and keep making improvements to meet your needs as well.
Thank you for considering me for this role!:)
