Malaysian: Secretary

Hello everyone, I’m Hoi Hin and I’m running for secretary in Malaysian Society.

Malaysian society has been a big part of my life for the last couple of months, and it feels amazing to experience the Malaysian culture, especially from MNight and other events, even when we are so far away from home. I have really enjoyed making friends from Malaysia, and thinking of all the future freshers and current members, I really want to commit to a position where I can help the society create an enjoyable experience for everyone and run smoothly.

I believe I have the suitable qualities to excel being secretary in msoc, which include:

Cooperative in a team.
Good at time management
Reliable and having backup plans

These will be my aims as a secretary:

1. Adding new parts to newsletter

I will add a calendar to highlight the major events in the society that month.
I will show the scores of the buddy families to increase engagement.
I plan to add a newsletter game, where the fastest buddy family to submit correct answers gets points that accumulate in each term, and everyone in the winning buddy family wins prizes at the end of each term.

2. Improve communication within committee

I plan to initiate monthly meetings internally, to ensure everyone in the committee keeps up to date with the condition of the society.

I am fully committed to being a secretary and look forward to working with Malaysian society.
