Sijung Lee

Hi everyone!

I’m Sijung, a first-year biochemistry undergraduate who loves advocating for things I am passionate about. In Biochem Soc, I hope to make our events more accessible and exciting to all students in our course and beyond so that everyone can be included in our journey!

Primarily, I plan to improve our social media contents by making our posts more informative and pay attention to the details so that all of our events have their unique but centralised designs. To do this, I will make the comments on Instagram more structured, with the activity, tickets, time, date, and location always presented in the same manner. I will also communicate with the committee and society members to make our designs more unique and presentable. Creating highlights of different academic and social events would also be beneficial for anyone interested in specific types of events.

Further, I want to create an improved sense of belonging and community. I will prioritise student involvement in choosing designs for hoodies and advocate to make more merchandise like stickers and tote bags with good designs.

I am excited to communicate consistently through all our platforms – Instagram, website, and email – to improve and maintain our brand image, and am confident in my skills to do so. My experiences in working as a copyeditor at Felix, our newspaper, has given me insight into media production and leading clubs in the past, whether academic or service oriented, has improved my communication and management skills.
