Jeffrey Cheung
Hello, my name is Jeffrey, and I am enthusiastic about applying for the position of Events Officer within DocSoc. Currently in my first year of undergraduate studies in Computing, I am a committee for another ICU CSP, which has provided me with insights into the internal operations of a society.
Recognizing DocSoc's stature as one of Imperial's largest CSPs, I am keen on organising more activities. My decision to pursue this role stems from my involvement in IC Hack 24. Not only did I sign up as a long-term volunteer, but I took up the extra work to become an organiser, and was responsible for one of the Hackerspace challenges. A lot of work was involved during the planning and preparation for IC Hack 24, and even more so on the day, with unexpected situations needing to be addressed. Despite all the challenges, I enjoyed the whole process, and found immense satisfaction in witnessing participants enjoy themselves during the event.
Additionally, my tenure as the vice-president of the Coding Club in my previous Sixth Form College equipped me with event organization skills akin to those required by this role. Drawing upon this experience, I will utilise my previous knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the planning and execution of future events.
