Rithvik Narendranath
Hi everyone, my name is Rithvik and I'm running for General Executive. As conference chair for Oncology society I had the pleasure of running the Surgical Oncology Conference. Running the conference gave me a wide range of skills in planning large events such as bringing in speakers and demonstrators, organising novel surgical workshops and developing a solid grasp of eActivities. Planning this event also strengthened my leadership skills as I delegated tasks and managed a large group of committe and subcommittee. Additionally I learned the importance of having contigency plans as a backup which turned out to be an invaluable skill when faced with the task of planning and running a conference!
Attending several surgical society events in the past, I am no stranger to the sheer amount of planning and effort that goes into every event in order to make it an enjoyable and educational experience for delegates and committee alike. My additional roles in MedED and SORA taught me the importance of advanced planning and rigorous time management in executing a successful event. Being MedED 3rd year coordinator I interviewed, selected for and ran the OSCE lecture series which further strengthened my organisational skills. My experience on these committee's this year will undoubtedly prepare me for the role of general executive.
I am a committed and driven individual who will work hard to drive surgical society to new heights. Thank you for reading my manifesto and I hope to secure your vote!
