Ayushi Gianchandani
Hi, I'm Ayushi!
As Promotions Officer for Trauma Conference, I had an amazing time being an active part of Surgical Society through events like Trauma Conference and Mock CPAs, etc. Alongside giving me a direct insight into the workings of SurgSoc, these experiences, along with being Academic rep and my roles on other medical committees which involve liasing with faculty and experts, have helped me develop necessary leadership, organisational and communication skills, putting me in good stead to be general executive.
I'm very passionate about being an aspiring woman in surgery and have interacted with several leading female surgeons, in the UK and internationally, through placements and conferences. Therefore, I'd love to lead the Women in Surgery conference, introduce more key surgical workshops and collaborate with internal and external societies and speakers to increase its reach and impact to a much greater level.
Due to my keen interest in plastics and surgical oncology, and experience as Oncology Society's Academic Officer, I would love the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to lead the Plastic Surgery Masterclass as a part of the Specialty Skills conferences, with an added focus on oncoplastic surgery. I've been involved in audits and research, shadowed surgeons in the UK and internationally, and built connections with them - consequently, if elected, I'd aim to broaden the scope of the conference by inviting international speakers to enrich and bring new perspectives to our understanding, along with increasing collaborations with other universities.
I hope to secure your vote! Thanks:)
