Vanathi Pugalendhi

Hi everyone! My name is Vanathi Pugalendhi and I’m running for president of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

I’d love to show everyone how inclusive and applicable the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology can be broadly through both increased outreach and capitalising on collaborative opportunities.

Highlighting the intersections of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with other specialties by working with other academic societies such as Femtech and Haematology would be incredibly impactful - this allows us to bring in speakers on interesting topics of intersection and provides unique networking opportunities with those working on niche areas of interest.

I also found the ObGyn conference I attended this year to be incredibly impactful - in addition to continuing what was done well I’d love to explore the possibility of collaborating with ObGyn societies of other universities to expand the scale of the conference, as well as introduce students to rigorous research opportunities in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

I have experience liaising with various parties and organising events with many moving parts as part of Imperial College Singapore Society’s committee and as a founding Vice-Chairperson of my school’s Green Interest Group - I can effectively manage teams and facilitate conversation to push out even more innovative and never-before-seen ideas.

Talking to passionate committee members at the conference was extremely heartwarming and it would be incredible if you would provide me with the opportunity to be a part of and head Obstetrics and Gynaecology society! I look forward to working with all of you soon :)
