Ell Loukily
Hi, my name is Ell Loukily. I’m a fourth-year Endocrinology BSc student, running for president of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society! Over the last years, I have developed a growing passion for O&G, particularly fertility medicine. My BSc in Endocrinology has allowed me to actively participate in fertility and O&G based research, including collaboration with the Imperial Kisspeptin team, renowned for their research in IVF treatment. This experience has allowed me to build valuable connections with leading researchers and clinicians in O&G, potentially providing valuable resources for future conferences.
As this year's Younger Years Academic Officer for ICOGs, I thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the committee, particularly during our annual conference. As President, I aim to build upon the current activities of the society and broaden our impact and reach. Recognising the positive feedback from the Q&A session during the conference and the invaluable advice provided to prospective students, I believe it would be great for the society to host speaker events throughout the year, allowing us to reach a wider audience. Additionally, I am committed to enhancing support for students preparing for exams, with specific attention to fifth years in their O&G paces station, as well as increased ICA support for BSc O&G students.
My past experence as an intern in a successful general practice automation startup, where I oversaw various responsibilities, provided me with essential leadership skills and insights into effective team management. I believe many of these skills will be transferable as president of O&G society!
