Matthew Knowles

Hey guys! I’m Matthew, a first year Medical Biosciences student and I am applying for Social Secretary next year. As a BMB student, my workload will (hopefully) be less than the typical course at Imperial which gives me more time to plan loads of fun and exciting events throughout the year! :)

Having been to a variety of events this year, such as the NAMS tour and sports nights, forming relationships and having fun as part of a community is what I’ve found most enjoyable – and is what I believe I’ll remember most from my time at university. So that this continues into next year I will ensure:

• An increased variety of social events, such as participation in ICSM RAG events.
• New members feel welcomed, whilst encouraging existing members to get involved!
• Social events/sports nights are frequent throughout the year.

Some of the current memories I’ve already made with the society include losing my voice for about a week after Fulham Palace Run (still one of my favourite nights), taking a water pistol filled with vodka into Slug (it ran out after 5 minutes), supporting the badminton team for hours at NAMS, but most importantly, meeting some great people! All these memories were made possible by the great work of the current badminton committee, and I would make sure I continue this great work into next year.

It would be a pleasure to become a part of the ICSM Badminton committee!
