Srisneha Mettu
Hello! My name is Sneha and I am running for President of FoMSF.
I have worked closely with NGOs, delivering education in slums in India. I have held roles in FoMSF like social secretary and innovation coordinator. I organised team-based events and worked with the innovation team in holding Inter-uni conferences.
Through these experiences, I developed the communication skills to collaborate with different universities and NGOs and hold experience in supervising FoMSF events and creating novel ones.
My initiatives as President
- I am aware that there are many, like me, who are inspired by MSF and want to learn more about future career options and aid missions. I aim to foster passion in this demanding, yet rewarding field by holding events/workshops to encourage awareness of career options and build useful skills for employment in disaster medicine.
- Collaborate with other societies such as cultural/arts societies in fundraising.
- MSF works in a political field but has always preached the importance of “speaking out against forgotten crises” or “teigmonage”. You can count on me to not shy away from speaking up issues on behalf of our university.
Humanitarian work is intrinsically connected to my persona and I have extensively researched humanitarian medicine, career paths, and read multiple accounts of humanitarian workers (Dr. David Nott is the legend). It would be an incredible privilege to be President and believe my skills and dedication make me a great candidate. Please feel free to contact me with any queries or ideas. (sm2122@ic.ac.uk). Thank you!
