Maelle Storder
As a candidate for Treasurer for Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières, I am committed to upholding high standards of financial integrity and transparency.
My past experiences in leadership positions will enable me to successfully carry out this role for the upcoming year. Currently, I am the co-leader and treasurer in the organization SWIFT (Sustaining Women in Financial Turmoil) for two years where, alongside the team, we successfully issued loans worth over 150k$ to 2700 women across 77 countries through fundraising initiatives. Previously, I was also treasurer of NHS (National Honour Society), where the team created events to raise over 2.5k$ for Low-Income workers. Alongside these roles, I was co-leader and treasurer of WebGo, managing students to create websites from scratch for NGO companies and organizing conferences. These experiences taught me to collaborate with others to create successful events within budget.
In addition to my treasury experience, I am part of the promotional team of Immunology subcommittee. Furthermore, I was also promotional officer for the School of Medicine Phoenix Ball. Within these roles I collaborated with several people across various years to plan events for the student body and I created sources of promotion to encourage people to participate in events, underscoring my commitment to creating inclusive and dynamic community engagements with carefully curated events alongside ensuring financial security.
If chosen as treasurer next year, I intend to use my skills and experiences to contribute to the society's growth and success by justifying all financial decisions that support future initiatives.
