Hi everyone, I’m Lin! I’m currently a second-year Medical Biosciences student and I am running for the BioMedical Society Secretary position!

Since joining Imperial, I’ve seen how wholesome the Biomed community is and I would like to take part in continuing and creating an even stronger community where students of different years come together to build relationships and support each other.

My priority will be to accommodate each student, especially the first-year students as I know integrating into and navigating uni life is very difficult. I am also part of the BMB mums and dads, supporting 10 children, which I find great joy in whenever I can help my children or give advice. I also want to organise events where Biomed students can have fun and don’t always involve dinners! I would love to hear your ideas and what activities you’d like to come true.

I also want to improve the communication between biomed-related societies, because I previously worked as the Sponsorship Officer of the Imperial College Personalised Medicine Society and helped to organise a conference talk about Genomics. I believe informative events should reach a larger target audience so I will put greater emphasis on this so fewer biomed students miss out on important opportunities!

Although it might seem hard to reach out, always know that the people on the committee will always be happy to help out!
