Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières: Events Coordinator

I'm Noor, a 4th year medic, running for next years FoMSF events coordinator. I would love to work with the VP organising events to raise for MSF, and increase outreach across Imperial and other London unis. While volunteering in a rural hospital in Lebanon, I was able to witness first-hand the importance for medical aid in conflict zones, prompting my interest in supporting humanitarian work and the direct impact it can have on vulnerable populations.

Having had experience liasing with external organisations in subcommittees for conferences such as NeuroSoc Meeting of the Minds, and FoMSF's Makeathon, I have developed the organisation and communication skills necessary for this role. Working as part of a team in these positions has allowed me to appreciate the importance of collaboration towards a shared goal, and anticipate the difficulties that come with this.

If elected, I would utilise my experience to work with the rest of the committee to further the success the society has had in the past, and hopefully boost participation and impact. I am also excited to propose novel events such as teaching medical French and Arabic, and increase collaboration with interuni FoMSF groups.
