As current medic's boat president, I know a thing or two about recreational rowing. After excelling in my previous indispensable role of secretary, I've decided it's my time to take on a larger and more influential role in the club.
From recent race results, I am so pleased to see that the men's squad is favouring a more recreational approach (apart from our excelling lightweight men's squad, although sadly only a fleeting addition to the club).
I would like to propose the permanent merger of all male members from the two boat clubs with every racing crew mandated to include at least one medic. This enforced chopper will facilitate the smoothest of transitions towards a greater haul of fourth-place finishes and in-boat beverages. Alongside this merger, other policies will be enforced. For example:
1. Recent research by P. Hardcastle et al. showed that an increased # of buckets causes an exponential increase in boat speed. Therefore, all boats will be bucketed to allow us to reduce our programme to 5x sessions a week, whilst maintaining our above-average results, allowing more time to sleep off the hangovers.
2. Scratch crews for all races - adds to the excitement of race days and because why not?
3. Sell the Henry Fieldman to fund our weekly toga-like socials
