Hi!

My name is Cristina and I'm a Spanish biochem first year :)

As the year gets harder and busier, it becomes easier to get lost in all the coursework, labs and lectures (and logo changes ...) and lose sight of why we all even study biochem: because we like it!

I am a true believer that in order to do things well one needs to be passionate about them, and the perfect way to enhance that is through events where we can all learn from others about our discipline without the usual pressure and stress. As Academic Events Officer, I would not only make that my main goal but ensure these events are catered to specific topics we enjoy and want to learn more about. This means you would be more than welcome to request topics you would like to hear more about, either from our own lecturers or other experts! To make sure everyone has a chance to express what events they would enjoy, I plan on releasing feedback forms and questionnaires periodically.

Because I used to organise events like these at school, I believe I have the right experience and skills to be a good Academic Events Officer. I can also guarantee I will work hard to make these events as enjoyable and enriching as possible - pizza included ;)
