Marta García Belza
Hey, did you know we already have something in common? Yes, it’s our devoted passion for tennis!
My name is Marta, a ChemEng student. I’ve been playing tennis since I was very small and can’t actually remember a time when I didn’t own a racket.
I'm running for Vice-President this upcoming year as I would like to involve myself deeper into our lovely community. I have been an active member of the ICLTC since I got to Imperial, forming part of the W2 Team since my first year and then becoming Team Captain during my second year. This past year’s experience has allowed me to learn more about how the club is run by having closer communication with other committee members, BUCS and Imperial Athletes. I'm excited and ready to move up the ladder to help make the most of our Imperial Student experience as part of one of the largest clubs in our university.
My objectives as Vice-President would include bridging the gap between Social Tennis and those in teams through different kinds of gatherings, both on-court and off-court of course!
Another important aspect to tackle is sponsors! We definitely need:
- More and stronger sponsors to increase our training times
- Include coached sessions in both social and performance training
- Imperial tennis kit at a subsidised price
- Organise sessions at closer venue - Harlington is not always the best, most of us can agree on that ;)
Thank you for your precious time and consideration!
