Siddhant Parekh
I have been part of PHEM for 2 years now and have been Treasurer this past year. As a principal officer, I have been deeply involved and become very familiar with all of the activities that PHEM runs. I have worked to get the Major Trauma Placements Programme off the ground this year, and I am currently trying to restart the Ambulance Observer Programme. I have helped run workshops that the society organises at various conferences. I have also worked hard to expand the society's medical equipment inventory including currently working to get authorisation for the society to acquire a manual defibrillator. This will be invaluable for teaching and simulation sessions, and familiarising members with medical devices that are used pre-hospitally.
I believe that the extent of my involvement in so many of the society's activities will serve me well as President in running, improving and expanding these activities in the coming year. It will also allow me to support fellow committee members in their roles. Building on my experience in starting and running the society's placement programmes this year will let me expand these programmes further to reach more members, and improve the experiences of participants. I am committed to sharing just how amazing pre-hospital emergency medicine is with as many people as possible, and expanding opportunities to get first-hand experience in this field.
