Shiromi Patrick

Hi, my name is Shiromi and I’m a third year medic. I was on the paeds conference subcommittee this year, which I really enjoyed being a part of and I would like to be the publicity officer for the upcoming year.

Having been on the conference subcommittee, I was part of designing posts and created the conference logo. I have also designed other material, outside of uni therefore and able to create eye catching material that is suitable to be displayed on various medias such as Instagram, Facebook and paper flyers. I am also a PlayTeam member, highlighting my commitment and interest to paediatrics in general, hence my interest in getting involved in this society

In terms of what we can do within publicity, we can do mini Q&A stories from older students interested in paediatrics and also HCP within the paediatric filed. Hopefully this will encourage an interest in paediatrics and help them learn more about the role in general and also how they can work towards that pathway themselves. As publicity officer, I will promote any events and continue making engaging posts!

I am also a highly organised and reliable person, having been the schools liaison officer for Teddy Bear Hospital, where I have had to organise visits and liaise with schools on a regular basis. I have also held multiple roles such as treasurer for multiple societies and early years rep in GP society, therefore I am able to manage my time well. Please vote for me!
