Shivank Khare
I'm Shivank, and I'm thrilled to announce my candidacy for this year's Oncology President.
In my current role as Oncology Vice-President, our society has flourished into a thriving and supportive community. Together, we've developed Imperial's Oncology Conference, featuring speakers from diverse backgrounds who deliver insightful talks on their areas of expertise, along with high-quality workshops aimed at educating our fellow medical students. Additionally, I've played a key role in securing funding for the society, ensuring its continued growth and success.
Collaborating with our dedicated team to organise the Oncology Journal Club has been an exciting endeavour. This involves networking with professors and unions to curate an enriching experience with speakers of the highest calibre.
If elected as President, I will ensure the success of our flagship events, including the Surgical Oncological Conference and the National Oncology Conference, while also ensuring the seamless continuation of our educational lecture series and journal club. Moreover, I aim to enhance the visibility of the oncology society through regular leaflet distributions and engaging workshops, to attract students from all academic years.
I am honoured to run alongside Leah Heartin, who has served as a conference chair this year. Leah's dedication to inviting esteemed speakers for both the journal club and oncology conference, as well as her efforts in creating captivating posters, have boosted interest in our society.
Let's work together to elevate the Oncology Society to new heights and create opportunities for our members.
Thank you for your support.
