Bharath Sivakumar
Hey everyone!
My name is Bharath, and I’m excited to be running for treasurer in the Investment Society.
Before joining, I was not much aware of the financial industry but, after attending their events, including the SEC course (for which I am thankful to the student lecturers), I have a much greater insight into the different sorts of careers available as well improving on the necessary financial skills. This led me to join QT Capital’s equities fund as a junior analyst, and I was involved in the pitch for Cisco Systems in the TMT team. I thoroughly enjoyed working with my teammates, and these experiences helped develop my knowledge of finance. Hence I am eager to help our members reach their goals.
As treasurer, I will:
- Create a clear budget plan that allows the society to meet its goals
- Work with the committee to host more career talks and networking events for our members
- Help organise more casual events so that we can all get to know each other better
- Reach out to potential sponsors so that we can host more activities
- Take in feedback from you so that we can continue to improve the quality of events provided.
Being part of the events subcommittee in ChemEngSoc helped me build the budgeting and organisational skills that will be necessary as a treasurer.
Thank you for reading my manifesto, and I hope to be able to support members with their ambitions, as the Investment Society did for me.
