Shivani Welling

Hello everyone! I’m Shivani, a fourth-year medic running to be your Publicity/Sponsorship Officer!

Over my time at Imperial, I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in most aspects of running committees. Currently, I am the sponsorship officer and a previous committee member of Imperial College School of Medicine Raising and Giving Society, on track to raise £50,000 for charity through sponsorship and running iconic events such as the ICSM fashion show and circle line.

As a lead in a national widening participation charity, I have organised active sponsor involvement in our events, being well versed in drafting sponsorship agreements. Being involved in securing sponsor support (both financially and in freebies) and organising events, I am eager to bring this experience to our basketball community.

Main aims:

New Sponsorship: Increase our pool of sponsors to local businesses, sports brands, and reach out to other Imperial sports societies. These partnerships will not only provide financial backing but also offer opportunities for collaborative events and initiatives.

Active Involvement: Create opportunities for us to deepen partnerships with current sponsors by organising social events and providing them more exposure to their audience; working closely with the digital officer to publicise these events.

Community Outreach: Using my experience in charities, I’ll develop outreach to potentially include local schools, community centers, and social organizations, offering basketball-centric events to engage with the broader community and encourage businesses to align with our mission.
