A society can really inspire students in developing or finding new interests. I would love to help with this as conference chair!
As a current endo bsc student, I have passion in this field, and am motivated to share this with a diverse range of students with an engaging and successful conference. I appreciate that a lot of work goes into planning a conference in order to make it appealing to both students and speakers. I have many ideas on how to maximise engagement, ranging from ideas for research competitions, pop-up sessions, exhibition spaces and cross-society collaborations.
I believe I would be the ideal candidate for the role of conference chair with my broad range of experiences. I have strong organisational, teamwork and management skills that I have developed from previous society roles (such as educational roles, publicity officer and treasurer), and am currently helping to develop a conference for another society this year. My previous roles in networking and treasurer would help in gaining sponsorships and potential collaborations (at Imperial and beyond) which will help foster a collaborative, inclusive environment for our conference and help it reach the most potential. Additionally, I am a transparent individual with strong communication skills. This is key in building a strong relationship with committee members and therefore creating a successful event and society as a whole.
To conclude, I would love to be a part of the committee, and thank you for reading my manifesto! :)
