Gemma Fallouh
Hello everybody, I’m Gemma and I am currently a second year medical student! I would love to be your endocrinology academic officer because I believe I have the passion and the skills which are perfect for this role. From year 1, endocrinology has been a topic I am highly enthusiastic about and having attended the Endocrinology Conference this year, my fascination has only grown stronger.
I personally find student run tutorials an absolute gold mine at medical school and during my time as academic officer, I hope to deliver exactly what you need to know in a fun and exciting way to get that dopamine flowing! I find that endocrinology is a very logical speciality and this is what I endeavour to emulate in the teaching I provide, by using concise explanations combined with interactive methods. This summer term, I will be undertaking a research project into the wonderful world of medical education and I hope to bring all the valuable insights I gain from this experience to you!
Throughout my academic career, I have always strived to be the best, not only did I achieve 5 A* at A level (Biology, chemistry, physics, maths and further maths) but I further proved my excellent capabilities in medicine as I also proudly received Distinction in my year 1 exams. Furthermore, I am very fond of linguistics and I have achieved Gold in two linguistics olympiads portraying my marvellous problem solving and pattern recognition skills - which are also essential to endocrinology.
