Vaishaanth Nagaraj
Hi everyone, I’m Vaishaanth, running for Vice President.
My diverse experiences include analyzing the ethical considerations of AI in healthcare in my research internship at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore, utilizing bioinformatic tools to quantify gene expression in my research internship at ASTAR in Singapore, participating in PlastaUK’s hackathon on innovating for the future of surgery, all of which have made me passionate about augmenting medicine through technology.
I have held numerous leadership positions, most recently being Events Lead of MedTech, where I successfully organized the inaugural ‘Introduction to Python and Machine Learning’ workshop. Additionally, I am the Networking Officer of Doctorpreneurs, where I connected with leaders in the MedTech space and invited a few down for our workshops and conference. Furthermore, my time serving national service in the Singapore Armed Forces allowed me to interact with and understand people from different cultural, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds, working harmoniously with them. I’ve also liaised with other army units in the proper handover of logistics, for the smooth running of training. These experiences have honed my leadership skills significantly.
As Vice President, I hope to achieve these:
- Actively assist the President
- Leverage my network of international contacts in the MedTech space and organize insightful discussions throughout the year
- Initiate an official mentorship program involving these leaders who can provide guidance and opportunities for students
I am a diligent person, giving my best in everything I do, and I hope you vote me as your next Vice President. Thank you!
