Elyse Wu
Hi! I am Elyse, a second-year Biomedical Engineering student, running to be your Events Manager this year!! Like many of you, I have also been through the tough process of navigating my career path, be it Finance, Consulting, or MedTech.
Events are crucial platforms where members develop their interests and make career choices. As someone who has benefitted greatly from ICWIB, I am committed to helping aspiring students, like myself, along their career-finding journey. By organising events to lead, support, and encourage members with the following goals:
- Incorporate industry trends into events like Fintech and Venture Capitals, so that events reflect the current landscape of industries, providing students with forward-thinking insights.
- Organise inter-university social and networking events to enhance networking opportunities for members, providing a platform to meet like-minded women.
- Introduce more connections between female professionals and members by leveraging my established relationships with analysts in finance/consulting industry — through events like panel talks and coffee-chats
- Diversify events’ fields of profession for members to explore different career options, including various fields within finance, consulting, entrepreneurship opportunities, or even medical technology.
My experience includes being Sub-Committee in Medtech Society and Events Team Leader in AIESEC — where I am organising an office visit with EY. In addition to being placed 2nd runner-up in a global case competition and a current participant in an investment competition, my experiences make me the perfect candidate for Events Manager in this dynamic society, ensuring events remain impactful and innovative with my unique perspective.
Thank you!!
