Shivank Khare
Hello everyone, I'm Shivank, and I'm applying for the position of Year 3 Coordinator for Medical Education!
Medical Education has played a pivotal role in my journey through medicine, not only offering support during Year 1 but also allowing me to give back to Year 2 students. My involvement in the LMAP team has been particularly fulfilling, where I've contributed to designing new study materials to help students in their exams. Additionally, my role as a BRS Phase 1b lecturer, delivering presentations on topics like Endocrinology, has garnered positive feedback from younger students.
Moreover, I understand the dedication and hard work required, which is evident from my experience as the Oncology Vice President. I've been actively involved in organising events like the oncology conference and journal club, contributing to the enrichment of our medical community. My experience as a Student Ambassador for Imperial highlights my communication and outreach skills as I've engaged with a diverse audience through platforms such as open days, mock interviews, and social media outreach.
As Year 3 Coordinator, I'm committed to prioritising OSCE preparation. While we receive regular teaching sessions, there's a need for better coordination in assigning OSCE tutors. Many Year 3 students faced challenges in getting paired or were grouped differently than requested. I intend to address this by ensuring thorough follow-up to ensure everyone's satisfaction with their assigned tutors.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve as Year 3 Coordinator and contribute to the enhancement of our medical education experience.
Thank you.
