Aditi Pandiri
Hi, we're Aditi & Asma, and we'd love to be your Playteam Co-Chairs next year! :)
We've always been passionate about Paediatrics as a speciality and a society - Aditi participated in Paediatric Conference sub-committee this year, whilst Asma has been a consistent mentor at PGL camps. Having both progressed from Playteam Volunteers to Playteam Leaders, we've truly enjoyed every moment, and would like to take on the responsibilities of Playteam Co-Chairs.
We've held many committee positions in the past, but organizing the UK's largest inter-university Bollywood dance competition as "Heads of Just Bollywood" qualifies us the most. This involved:
- Auditioning of 30+ universities;
- Enrolling 200+ dancers;
- Securing venue, lighting & sound;
- Training committee & sub-committee for Showday.
This developed our teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, which we believe are crucial qualities of Playteam Co-chairs.
Reflecting on our Playteam experience in previous years, we aim to introduce:
- Meetings once-a-term as contact points for Playteam Leaders;
- Volunteer feedback forms before issuing certificates, to ensure Playteam Leader engagement & participation.
We will continue:
- frequent communication with St. Mary’s Playteam shareholders, e.g. Tina Halton, and Play & Volunteer Coordinators to ensure Playteam runs smoothly throughout the year;
- the Polo-Swap system, which increases accessibility & affordability, and may encourage more volunteers.
Despite the changes and challenges Playteam may face due to the St. Mary's campus sale, we are committed to maintaining the positive impact of volunteering on children & their families, making Playteam enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved! <3
