Elyse Wu
Hi everyone! My name is Elyse, a second-year Biomedical Engineering student running to be your Head of Internal/Alumni Relations this year! Like many of you, I have also been through the tough process of navigating my career path, be it Finance, Consulting, or MedTech. Through that, I have come to appreciate the importance of cultivating meaningful relationships with women to achieve our career ambitions together.
I'm committed to strengthening the bond between ICWIB members and female professionals, alumni in particular, encouraging members to be guided in their early career developments and gain insights from professional points of view.
As Head of Internal Relations, I aim to:
- Enhance diversity of mentors' professional backgrounds within our mentorship program by introducing expertise from fields such as Fintech, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Pharmaceuticals, and more.
- Facilitate meaningful industry connections for ICWIB members by leveraging my established relationships with analysts in finance/consulting industry — through events like panel talks and coffee chats
- Introduce more inter-university events to enhance networking opportunities for members, providing a platform for members to meet like-minded individuals and an alternative perspective on their career exploration journey
- Form partnerships with diversity- and inclusivity-focused societies in other universities to co-host insightful events, aimed at forming long-standing relationships with women from various background
Speaking from a position with experience in the application processes, I understand what women need to succeed, and am motivated to empower and help one another to achieve our career goals. Thank you for your time :)
