Arushi Maheshwari

Hi, I’m Arushi, a first-year medic and I’m excited to run for Hindu Society Sanskaar Coordinator. Having grown up fondly celebrating every festival and tradition with my family, I am dedicated to arranging events and initiatives that honor our culture and remind us of our special heritage.

I’ve been really impressed by Hindu society’s events this year, from the grand Garba night to the Diwali aarti. As your Sanskaar coordinator, I will carry on this legacy, and strive to make every event bigger, more inclusive and more memorable!

Specifically, I plan to:

• Work closely with the events officers to make the festive events bigger and better, and introduce new events like kite-flying for Makar Sankranti and a Janmasthami aarti
• Work with the Sewa coordinator to ensure our society is able to give back during the festive season, by donating to or organizing events for the less privileged
• Organize movie nights for members of HSoc to celebrate our culture together, whether it be watching new Bollywood movies or old classics
• Plan cultural workshops and social events for society members who want to feel more connected with their roots and interact with others

I have a lot of experience working in teams, and in leadership roles and am able to manage my time effectively. I will keenly accept feedback and suggestions from society members and work hard to promote our culture and its values!
