From high school onwards, where I had my first experience with research and experimentation, I have been fascinated with the academic world, and I am certain I would like to be a part of it in the future. Furthermore, I have found SORA’s events, such as speed networking and the YRC, to be excellent ways to understand academia better. Thus, I am dedicated to SORA’s mission and excited to join it and share this passion with like-minded peers.

My background as a critical member of over 6 organising teams for school conferences/events, coupled with my recent role as the finance officer for Student Medaid London (SMAL), has equipped me with the essential skills to excel as a Sponsorship officer. Through these experiences, I have refined my communication skills, such as crafting compelling and concise emails that attract sponsors and foster long-term relationships.

Furthermore, I have developed the appropriate collaboration skills to work seamlessly with all of committee to help make every event a success, especially from a funding perspective. Additionally, as finance officer for SMAL, I have come in contact with over 20 potential sponsors with research-related interests whose financial help could help further build on this year’s conferences and events, providing high-quality experiences for everyone.
