Max Matta
Hi everyone! My name is Max and I am an ideal candidate for National Conference lead as I am fascinated by MedTech innovations and am driven to work in the industry and I am also passionate about planning and executing events that provide an amazing experience to participants.
Through organising successful events I have developed skills and knowledge that I will bring to the role. In 2021, I orchestrated a charity marathon with 60 participants and organised and advertised a clothing collection for refugees in Lebanon involving 3 local schools. This involved leading a team of 10, liaising with charities and shipping companies, and utilising various strategies to drive donations. I have also been a member of Imperial's Right to Play committee, responsible for UH sports night - a massive annual event involving all 5 London medical schools. I was also publicity officer for Meeting of the Minds, promoting and helping organise the UK's largest university neuroscience conference. These experiences have helped me foster leadership, teamwork and planning skills, which I am keen to apply to MedTech.
I have plenty of ideas for this year’s conference, for example including an innovation challenge/hackathon, where teams compete to solve real medical problems, fostering innovation, creation and collaboration. I will also make the most of other Imperal societies (Doctorpreneurs, Robotics, Prosthetics), tapping into their audience and collaborating on unique and enjoyable workshops and events.
Overall, my experience and skills coupled with my passion for MedTech make me the perfect candidate for this role.
