Heidi Reynolds
Hello, my name is Heidi and I’m excited to be applying for this role!
The value of clinical shadowing is an important commodity and sometimes you don’t get the opportunity to pursue your speciality of interest within clinical placement due to the lottery of other possibilities. Due to this, I would love the opportunity of being able to collaborate with clinicians and students to coordinate invaluable experience in a speciality you may not get the chance to experience.
Next year, as a fifth year I will be in one of the best positions to communicate with clinicians as I can speak to them directly within the hospital and via email. I can confidently write emails and navigate social media platforms to find clinical connections who could be invaluable in providing mentorship to students for career development.
I am an enthusiastic individual who will persevere through setbacks and strive to help as many students as possible to experience neurology in depth. As well, I can be very flexible with my time and am used to on-the-go networking which I think will be useful for this role.
If elected to this position, I would welcome the chance to collaborate with the research coordinator within the society to maximise possible opportunities for students. The people at the forefront of audits and new research ideas are the clinicians working in hospitals, so it would be great to be able to provide both clinical experience and research potential.
