Hi guys, gals & non-binary pals,

My name is Avi (she/her) and I am a fourth year Medic. I am running for Sexpression’s Representation & Inclusion Officer!

I am super passionate about amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups through integrating greater diversity into Sexpression’s publicity & teaching materials, as well as events.

I have held this position for the past two academic years and have adored every moment of it! Some key achievements include:

• Delivering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training at Sexpression.Imperial's Training Day in 2022 and 2023, to incoming volunteers
• Curating inclusive lesson packs for volunteers, e.g. through using a variety of pronouns and cartoons/pictures which highlight and celebrate diversity
• Consistently reviewing social media and publicity posts made by Sexpression.Imperial to uphold representation and inclusion, as well as accessibility

Much of my work in this role led me to win the Inclusivity Award at Imperial College Union Awards 2023!

I would love the opportunity to hold this position for another year. Some key goals for 2024/25 would be:

• Liaise with the Events Officer(s) to have at least one event/social per year which aims to increase representation, eg. trip to Queer Britain Museum for LGBTQ+ History Month
• Working with the School Liaison Officer(s) to ensure that content delivered in the classroom is accessible to all students in that particular session
• Deliver Representation & Inclusion training to another cohort of incoming volunteers at Training day 2024
