Sung Joo Han
Hey guys! My name is Sung Joo, and I am a second-year biotechnology student. I was first exposed to Synthetic Biology in high school, and I was amazed at how scientists could design DNA and put it into a host organism to program it to be equipped with abilities never found in nature. As much as I acknowledge how passionate all our SynBIC members are for Synthetic Biology, I want to become the next Sponsorship Liaison Officer to help maximise opportunities for all our members. As a Korean, I’ve recently heard that the Korean minister visited Imperial for their Synthetic Biology collaboration. I will try my hardest to reach out to as many people as possible without restricting myself to opportunities available only in the UK. Whether it is drafting a letter to the Korean president to expand their international collaboration with SynBIC, or emailing as many people in industry and academia, or aggressively networking at Synthetic Biology events, I will find more opportunities for us. Having spent time growing up and studying in New Zealand, I will seek opportunities and collaborations there too. Thank you all!
