Rohit Vijaykumar
Hey everyone,
I’m Rohit, a second year Computing student, running for chair of F1 Society. As I’m already part of the committee this year as Technical Officer – you may have seen me at the watchalongs, or heard me on the podcast – I was involved in a lot of the things that F1 society has done this year, such as designing race information graphics, designing our merchandise, writing the quiz questions and helping organise the watchalongs – and through this I have gained lots of experience about the workings of this society and insights into how to run a society. I also have lots of ideas to make the society even better next year, that include:
- Hosting more social events – trips to F1 arcade and go-karting at subsidised prices, pub quizzes and events in collaboration with other universities.
- Making watchalongs more interesting by hosting events alongside just watching the race, such as quizzes, prediction challenges and other games.
- Running more competitions through things like F1 Fantasy, F1 Play, and the F1 game.
- Hosting more Q&A sessions with alumni who work in Formula One, and more fun technical workshops to teach members how to create their own liveries or F1 infographics.
My aim is to make this society one where all Formula One fans can enjoy themselves, whether completely new to the sport or a seasoned veteran, and one where all of us can watch Ferrari win a title together (I am delusional).
Thanks for your consideration.
Rohit
