Michelle Wang

Hello, my name is Michelle. It would be a privilege to be considered for the role of Secretary in the Respiratory Medicine Society.

Attending the conference planned and managed by the society and it benefited my learning in terms of enriching my academic knowledge, deepening my understanding of the specialty and also the career aspect. It was incredibly insightful and interesting, and deepened my interest in the field so I’d like to join as an active member to reciprocate this to others who are interested in respiratory. I would like to contribute to the society by helping it run smoothly, arrange more conferences and events and expand it too.

Throughout my gap year and academic journey, I have gained a diverse range of experiences and skills that I believe make me well-suited for this role. This includes providing clear and effective communication, working collaboratively with members of the team, time-management, organisational skills and decision-making that I’m confident will help me become a good fit for the role. I have a clear understanding of the responsibilities associated with the Secretary role and the tasks that I need to do such as organising appropriate meeting times and locations, keeping meeting minutes and facilitating communication within the society.
