Hi all,

I'm Tom, your (hopeful) new trip officer. I've been sailing for a long time now but joined yachting two years ago, partially for the great summer trips they do. I'm keen to give back to the society and think I'd be a good trip officer. Here's why!

Firstly and most importantly, I have experience planning yachting trips. Last summer I organised my own sailing trip in Scotland which involved planning an outline itinerary in advance, plenty of logistics, and making sure it was an enjoyable trip for everyone. If I am elected, I'd be keen to hear from the society about where they'd be interested in going, but at the moment I'm interested in looking at a trip to the Baltic. If this interests you, definitely vote for me, and if not, definitely vote for me anyway so you can tell me where you'd rather go!

Secondly, I set up a new society last year (shameless Ceilidh Society plug - go check us out) so I have plenty of experience with the union, risk assessments and sitting at the helpdesk for multiple hours to get what you want.
