Cynthia Lin
My name is Cynthia Lin, and I am currently in my second year studying BMB. Over the past year, I've had the privilege of serving as a member of the BMB subcommittee, where I've been actively involved in organizing a variety of events both society-wise and BMB-based, including academic social nights, BMB IMI/CBIO tutorials, and the upcoming conference in collaboration with the Infectious Disease Society on March 16th.
These experiences have significantly contributed to my personal growth, particularly in areas such as teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills. They've also provided me with valuable insights into the workings of university-based societies and the importance of fostering a community among individuals with shared interests.
I've been particularly fascinated by the ability of such societies to bring together like-minded individuals and enables the exchange of knowledge and understanding. It's this sense of community and shared learning that has inspired me to seek a position on the committee for the upcoming year, specifically as the BMB Academic Officer.
In this role, I am excited to collaborate with the MBBS program to offer a wide range of immunology-based activities. Additionally, I aim to increase the visibility of the BMB course by promoting our presentations within the ICSU community.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue contributing to the BMB society and furthering our mission of fostering academic excellence and community engagement. Thank you for considering my candidacy for this position.
