Sophia Mok
Hey everybody! I’m Sophia, a current subcommittee member of the Media and Publicity team. I’m a huge FemTech enthusiast, especially in sharing this awareness with the greater community - women, men, old, young, STEM lovers and haters - as this knowledge and understanding is not only essential but very fascinating too! My peers know me as a collaborative team member, a passionate and engaging leader, and an innovative thinker. I would love to embody these qualities and skills as FemTech’s Chair in the upcoming year and to continue working with like-minded people to empower women’s health and technology.
I’ve had plentiful experience in event management and leadership, from interning in small startups to leading national charity fundraising events. As a member of the subcommittee this year, I have learned how each member plays a vital role and that collaboration is key. As a chair, I will be responsible for organizing the timeline of events, delegating tasks, and ensuring effective communication between each team. Most importantly, I wish to make FemTech feel like a loving, welcoming environment.
In terms of new ideas, I’d love to organize more inter-uni events and networking opportunities across London, or potentially the whole of the UK! There are so many people out there who remain uninformed about the FemTech world simply because they don’t have access to learning and networking opportunities like those offered here. The greatest way to increase awareness and action is to expand our impact beyond the Imperial bubble.
